Classroom Observation in SD Muhammadiyah I Palembang and SD Xaverius I Palembang
Introduction
One of activities of IMPoME’s students in the beginning of their study is Mathematics classroom observation. This activity is oriented to know more about application of Mathematics learning by approaches of PMRI (Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia) in schools that have joined with PMRI. For students of IMPoME, this activity is also useful to get experience in teaching learning of Mathematics by approaches of PMRI. They also can know directly how activities of students during Mathematics learning in class.
In the second year of IMPoME, there are 13 schools in Palembang that will be observed by students of IMPoME. Observation is done in groups where each group consists of two or three students who will observe two schools. In this case, I and one of IMPoME student are in one group that will observe SD Muhammadiyah 1 and SD Xaverius 1. We started to observe both of schools on May 20, 2010.
